NEWKID 27,144
It's not so much the drink for me lads, it's the social side... I enjoy the crack in the pub, but hate being sober amongst drunks.... I wouldn't sit at home and drink, it's just not for me..... Nice one to all the lads who've give up completely, I think I'll go another few weeks at least lol

scothunter 12,609
i never ever drank pints,so i dont get that feeling in the summer.when i drank it was just to get steaming, and if im honest i was never a nice drunk.still miss the taste of the old vodka though, but will never ever drink again.ill just stick to the fags as my vice.

That's the Craic stig, I loved the social side of football..... Played western league for a few years and it was brilliant... One of the lads worked for a brewery he'd bring piles of beer on the coach in cool boxes, we'd have a couple in the away club house then it was beer and 3 card brag on the way back to ours. For a load more lol... I miss those days a bit to be honest, but it's not the same anymore.... Happy days..

gnipper 6,467
I can take it or leave it normallybut I couldn't have a beer if I wanted at the mo because I might have to drive the missus to the hospital any time which is making me want a beer, soon as this babies out I'm having a pint she was due yesterday. I've knocked the cigs on the head a week ago too and I'm doing ok with it, not touched one.

I've played senior football since I was 15 and from the off loved the social.. The last club was a smaller side it was a fair standard, but our facilities were awful lol no one liked coming to play us but most sides stayed in the club house till late, it was a fee for all type if place... Spit and sawdust at its best lol.... The end of season did with fine money was always a good laugh..... I was lucky I think to play and socialise in the main with decent lads, that's what I miss...... Oh and your right there's nothing worse than listening to the shite drunks spout when your sober...
