spindolero 1,111
good post as always Cleanspade, that beddy whippet came in handy by the sounds of it. i did hear of one that kept going to ground and was eventually lost in a big place, never to be seen again Quote Link to post
troter58 1,711
well this thread has got interesting . i had a beddy whippet many many years ago. and it was a little soldier . at nineteen inch to the shoulder and could only be discribed as lightly built. but he really did have a big heart. one story about (old grey mac) was the first time he entered to fox was below ground. we had dug down to a little vixen and she was in rock sitting behind a stone ledge we had used a lakie dog to dig down and he had been used sore so was pulled back and wasnt fit to use again. i wasnt far from my mothers house so i borrowed one of her russells this was written off in short time so we where stuck for an answer to the problem as it was not far but it was tight and awkward. all this time the little beddy whippet was tied back not seeming to be interested. i loosed him off to see if he was interested and he squeezed his way in and bang. he was on not a sound apart from bumping and grunting you cuold just see his back legs stiffen and he humped and hauled for a good while and then out it came. he was badly bitten about his fine little muzzle but was neither up nor down the following day. when i compare him to a good wheaten x. its no contest the wheaten wins hand down . there really is no comparison. totally different animals as far as i'm concerned. both have there place . but very different types . northernlite i really like the look of your dogs. if anyone would care to put some beddy /whippet pics up . i will put up pics of a wheaten/whippet .for comparison. they are like chalk and cheese. this is just my opinion put some up i have plenty photos of different crosses of beddys from a long time ago but i do not want a ban like last time i put pre ban photos up so lets see you wheaton x whippet and i will bang a few on to compare then atb Edited February 18, 2013 by troter58 Quote Link to post
