Thieving Mac 1
Cheers for the comments i havnt seen the mess it was my grandad who keeps the dog for me. But he says it was slimy with bits of red blood in it. Its the same symptoms as when i first bought him off the breeder. He must not have been wormed properly and the he had severe worms tge mess he produced then was the same i think. But since iv got in i ge hasnt passed anything so until he passes anything i dont know weather to worm him at the vets first thing in the morning :/ Quote Link to post
LaraCroft 863
I wouldn't be giving any worming meds if he is passing blood. If you are not sure what you are doing, the vet is the best place. Experience in treating stuff yourself takes time, and until then, the dog needs to be the priority. Hope all is ok. DogMagic 461
Mate, I dont want to be rude but get him to a bloody vet to get looked over. From what I know, although I admit not a massive amount, if a dog is passing blood he needs looking at asap. If you sh*t blood do you go to a doc? Sorry to sound aggressive but the dogs welfare is the main concern. Pat The vet Pat? Thats a bit radical isnt it? Why not waste as much time as possible on an internet forum full of people who aint vets first to see if anyone sais "dont worry mate, keep watching playschool while your dog bleeds to death out its arse"? 1 Quote Link to post

To be fair my dog was bleeding out of its arse last week and I didn't rush the vets to have my wallet raped. I took some good advice off here and used a bit of common sense and sorted her out 2 Quote Link to post

But what if it is Parvo? What's the vets gonna do? Possibly save the dog but from what I've heard they usually die and dogs that do survive are never the same again after recovering from Parvo. Either way you get a big bill at the end. With the number of cases coming up its probably the same bug about 15 others on here have had these last couple of weeks. Quote Link to post
scothunter 12,609
there a lot of things i would tend and treat myself to save being ripped off at a vets, but this wouldnt be one of them mate. if you were shitting blood would you go on the internet and ask folk for thier advice,no you would know within yourself that proffesional help is needed.spewing or passing blood is never a good thing. brenner 773
Could be as simple as stress. Its common for pups to shit a little blood even for a few days when u first bring them home due to stress of the new surroundings and maybe a change in diet. Its the lining of the stomach or intestines ( i cant remember which) thats poducing bloody mucous and needs no treatment but time. if the dog has only recently gone to your grandas, i would put it down to stress of the move but if the dog is in a bad way, i wouldnt hang around Quote Link to post
