Lost Terrier

Recommended Posts

Lost my terrier bitch on wed morn whilst out with a mate and his dogs on a disused railway embankment. Chasing rabbit disappeared down a hole, got a rough, very rough idea where' she went but have had no luck finding her. Spent all day looking, got help from a couple of mates and dogs, no sign of her. Fire search and rescue came after a call from the mrs, they spent 2 hrs in horrendous conditions ( blizzard) searching using some high tech listening device but had no positive marks.

I'm popping back to look before and after work - any tips?

She has done this before and was dug out a day later and I know I wouldn't be in this mess if she had been wearing a tracker...big thanks to Andy and Dave for their continued help !

Between Grimsby and Louth. Tried terriers and spaniels to get a mark up to now, seems to be too much fresh scent around to get anything conclusive. Was just out for a stroll with a mate of mine, not working her, momentarily took my eye off her when spaniel and my bitch took . Been told it might look a bit suspect if I collar her up while walking her down there as there are a few places shes not allowed to go in along that walk. But yes i agree, i wouldn't be in this position if she had been wearing one.

so now you need a diploma to work terriers. The lad needs nourishment not punishment. What do you advise a terrier test or a european stranded terrier test lol Edited by gonetoearth

Not a diploma GTE just some common sense,, i wasnt punishing the fella but sometimes you have to be cruel to be kind,, its even more cruel on the terrier.

Tried terrier with collar on 1st day, no mark, just went in and out. Tried it again today and thought we had a mark, had a dig n pulled out terrier attached to a rabbit. Gutted! Dug out most of the obvious holes, enough to get my head right in, not getting anything. She ain't a dog that runs off, she's real good at recall.
