zini 1,939
I do everything it says in the video but it doesn't come true to form at 61yards it's bang on 3 Mil-dots but on chair gun it says it 58 yards this is on 10x mag Thats down to 2 things i would say mate. 1 the scope height. 2. The biggest difference though will be your pellets true BC. This makes a hell of a difference if not calibrated. Si Quote Link to post
davyt63 1,845
hi Dan will agree with Si you will have to do POA to POI Point Of Aim to Point Of Impact drop, then measure the distance of the drop. this will give you your true BC Ballistic coefficient enter this in with you scope height and the rest of the data Quote Link to post
secretagentmole 1,701
The mag on the scope is not entirely accurate either! I know! Mine was supposed to give 5 metre steps at 8X mag, turns out it works at 10X on my scope! Quote Link to post

sureshot.177 49
What distance should I do the POI at I think it's me not measuring my scope height correct and how can I sort the pellets Quote Link to post
davyt63 1,845
What distance should I do the POI at I think it's me not measuring my scope height correct and how can I sort the pellets how far do you shoot out to? you can weigh them on some digital scales scope height how to measure, this is the way i do it. measure the with of the barrle lets say 15mm then half it = 7.5mm then measure objective end lets say 52mm the half it = 26mm.now go back to the barrle and put a pencil mark at 7.5mm on the barrle, make sure its in line with the objective end,now go to objective end and put a pencil mark at 26mm. once you have both pencil marks in place measure from A 7.5mm to B 26mm = your scope height if you end up with say 52.05 then round it of = 52mm Edited to say:for the newbies, found this image,it will give you more of an idea Edited February 14, 2013 by davyt63 1 Quote Link to post
zini 1,939
Yes this is a spot on answer Davy and a very good illustration with the picture. Sure Shoy scope height is important but pellet bc and correct power input is very very critical for accurate data. If all done correctly your scope and actual POI will match to the yard as we have found out now many many times. My HW97KT as been done this way and is meter accurate to 65 meters. Its just me who lets it down. Quote Link to post
