Matching Your Dog....

How are men with properly tested dogs ruining anything for "ordinary lurcher men"? If you don't want to use these studs you don't have to....it's not compulsory!

I personally have not the slightest interest in shooting but I don't lurk around the shooting section stalking those who do. If I hadn't any experience of running on fenland I would never have the brass neck to criticise those who have.

To slag off Lucas is to slag off the men who have seen him run and deemed him worthy. Men like Noony are no fools, have ran on the fens for years and know what kind of dog they need. I haven't seen Lucas in the flesh but some very experienced men have, and one old timer told me that he'd seen all the top dogs from Laddie to the present run and Lucas was up there with the best of them. I'll take his word over anyone who has never stepped foot on big land if you dont mind.

have you got a lurcher now since you left mayo street.stick with your memories mate.

I left Mayo street primary school in 1960.....so all my experience with dogs, English fenland, Irish field and Scottish mountain has come since then. In fact I've been lucky enough to have had a "best dog of the day" on Rippengale fen and on Scottish mountain within the past decade.....how about you pal?

Always baffles me why people try and shoot down the achievements of good dogs? What does it prove apart from making them look like jealous fuckers? Just man up,tip your hat and say well done that dog

its about having the best dog for me. i love condition my dogs and getting them as fit as i can. not about money for me i spend a good few quid on them with cars, fuel, fines, feeding and most of all tim

What's the point? Look at the hassle it causes. If your dog wins, does it make it a better dog or you a better dog man? I know folk like to test there dogs against the best but do you really need to g

ML just run his 2nd a 4 muniter piped it hare came back out jack slipped on it dog just straight in dead. jack arguing wasnt same hare. the final a comedy now

Sound's bad put like that ! What I heard from a "neutral" a rabbit got up about 10 minute's after from the same place as M.L.'S got up, Jack slipped killed it instant, lad's seem to think it was the same one made it's way back in full circle but Jack wasn't to know when he slipped and the rule's of competition are a "slip's a slip" not very satisfactory I know but not as bad as the way it was put above  sounded like they'd got dyno-rod out the way it's put above !!!

Bolio you been in game long time seen the best you don't get many irish born bred dog going to eng running the forley winner on a fen and drawing.

Gorger I don't even know of any Irish man who had the confidence to match against the top English dogs never mind draw.......well not since Master McGrath.....when greyhounds were still bred to course rather than sprint from A to B.

I tip my hat to you John.

No hounddog bully is a match dog a good one at that in last year forly final and won this years forley. What I'm sayin his style is to run all hares 3 or 4 mins while lucas likes to take them out asap. 2 ifferent type running styles. When uve 1000,s riding on a match you need a killer mate. I'm just glad I didn't lose
