Ryan1993 4
thinkin of getting a buffalo special 6 shirt, what are they like for walking in do they sweat you much? got got couple of ridgeline coats at the moment but are no good when alot of walking is involved Quote Link to post
tegater 789
I have 3 that i have had since about 1996. They never seem to wear out, they can be vented by two way zips on the side and pockets, but they must be worn next to the skin for them to work properly. For some reason you can wear them for weeks, and they never seem to smell or even need washing. All the mountain rescue lads wear them, but there are cheaper alternatives that do the job the same, and are basically constructed the same. The genuine buffalos are expensive but well worth the money. Quote Link to post
jessdale 416
Fantastic bit of kit. They are VERY VERY warm, but easily vented with the side zips. They are best worn next to the skin so the pile wicks away any sweat from your skin. They are not waterproof though, they rely on you being so warm inside that the wet does not make you cold. If you keep active in it you will not bother about the rain and they dry very very quickly. Top kit in my opinion. I like it alot more than gore-tex, that's stuff is like wearing a bin liner you sweat so much. Quote Link to post
Ripstop 89
Tegater, may I ask What the cheaper Alternatives are? Quote Link to post
tegater 789
Montane extreme smock is one and Arktis do their own version as well. The montane is great and a lot of the lads are using it. Quote Link to post
Ripstop 89
Chers for that mate, im also looking into another paramo bit of clothing, as I have the Paramo Cascada Jacket and lov it. Quote Link to post
jessdale 416
Chers for that mate, im also looking into another paramo bit of clothing, as I have the Paramo Cascada Jacket and lov it. I have the paramo trail shirt and explorer top and they are brilliant base/mid layers. I too have the cascada coat and swear by it for keeping me dry. If only paramo would make a coat tough enough to go hunting in ?. Quote Link to post
