yup.ive had the jap motors since Datsun ,Bedford, etc, always had Isuzu recent years, but a rep turned up on site today in the d max new model,he said its been back to dealers a few times with loom wiring probs and its still not fixed, keeps cutting out......prob a one off.looked again at the ranger today,...I aint sure bout it, transit engine,to many electrics, hill decent, etc, looks a bit American f150 style, and the fuel econmy not great......

so im in the stages of ordering a new invinible, even 3000cc can manage 40mpg ish.....and its got the old stick lever to lock the 4wd drive up ,ill go back to Isuzu later.....

ha,i know its bloody difficult,i havent gone and viewed the isuzu yet,i feel guilty not getting another as they have really been good motors over the years, and i prob the only person with a 05 isuzu that looks 20yrs old due to the abuse i give em.

i still reckon the rangers good but just because its new there getting sold out quick, just cause of the guys who want the latest truck, there be 1000s of em on the road shortly.the new nissan will be the same.................wait or buy now :hmm:

Don't think in a million years that you will get 40 ish from a Hilux 3.0, I have one and its 28/30 combined, best I've had was 31.2 mpg while I was doing the first 600 miles at 50mph, and the speedo reads wrong by approximately 7mph so you are only doing 55 when the speedo says 62

A very lovely truck but it's in leagues with the diesel demons for sure :diablo::diablo:

the answer is in front of yous, landrover disco with isuzu engine,i have one for the last five years, unbeatable, all the cheap prices from paddocks for running gear, brakes, etc, and the reliable jap engine, awesome power when needed, can pull double cattle box over the hills with ease, highly recommend looking into it especially for the hunting game, you dont no when the next keeper might decide to thrash your motor if your parked in the wrong place,if it happens just get old disco and change bodys over, believe me it happens
