mega moocher 20
hi i was just wandering would springers be any good for bolting foxes to lurchers and would they be any good as a drawing dog pre ban Quote Link to post
dogs-n-natives 1,182
Yes. Pre ban, I worked springer, cocker, and cross breds for flushing fox from cover. A Cocker of mine was lethal with toothed game, and loved popping stuff from holes. The cross breds are better for flushing fox, as they follow away on a line more naturally with the terrier and/or beagle blood, and also freely give tongue on a hot scent. They are easy dogs to enter to whatever hunting you do. Very eager to please, and mad keen. Quote Link to post

Irish Lurcher 1,013
Cracking wee all rounder really, the bitch I am working at present bolted a fox during her training, and has since bolted three more, I dont do much bushing, but after her efforts I think one shall give it a lash. 1 Quote Link to post

Chid 6,489
Spaniel make excellent bushers ,if you get the right sort they will push through the tightest cover , Allowing a dog to draw a fox was illegal even before the ban Quote Link to post
