MR TEA POT 1,287
The last few times i have been ferreting i have had a guy off here tagging along,DRWOLLY,for this post i will call him PADDY .He rang me up last weekt o say he had landed himself some permission and he wanted to repay the favour for coming on my ground. So yesterday we set of to the farm we had to meet the farmer at 8:00 thwe weather was awful rain with a cold biting wind.So we got to the farm house and followed the farmer to where he was going to show PADDY the land and the boundaries,so after he left we went into a field with about 8000 chickens in it and netted the first warren of the day up,ferrets in and waited suddenly the first rabbit hits the net then after a bit of a wait a second rabbit then a third, the ferrets started to show so we moved on,to be fair on this ground where evr we looked there was warrens all well used and on the fields there was runs criss crossing all over the place. So on to the next warren netted up and entered my ferrets they both appeared at differant holes only for me to go over and find the MK3 collars stuck in the net fecking usless so we put PADDYS ferrets in and mine came out,so mine boxed up and back to the warren and rabbit bolted out of a hole we missed ran up the bank and jumped and cleared a 4ft fence in one jump .So hole netted and a wait then two more rabbits bolted. The weather was getting worse by this time bloody freezing it was,as we was ferreting the last warren a tasty young woman had pulled up and gone into the chicken shed,so i said to PADDY i will take my ferret box back to the car and he said ok he will pick the nets up so drop ferrets of at the car thought i would nip in and chat to the fine young lady so after giving her me best chat up lines i thoughti had better go back PADDY went mad saying im out here picking up these nets in this weather while you are in the warmth chatting a bird up so we did a couple more warrens and called it a day the weather was getting worse the purse nets where wet through as was we,so we got back to the yard and had a brew i thought i will go and chat the bird up again i went to the door...............and she locked it much to PADDYS amusment as was demonstrated by tea being spat out his mouth in a fit of laughter. So we ended the day on 7 rabbits would have been more but the weather was terrible. Afew pics The bridge in the back ground is what we had to cross to get to the warren and to say it was rotten was a understatement i was laughing at PADDY crossing it then realised i had to cross it my self. A rabbit in my pink purse net And PADDY gets to it Not many pics as weather no good,so all in all a good day and thanks again for the invite mate roll on a week on sunday. Quote Link to post
