Tron 173
Hiya John, It is very easy to remove and replace a AA 410 barrel, To do so first remove the magazine retaining clip on the front of the receiver , it is the part at the very front of the scope mounting rails. underneath that there is two 3m/m grubscrews which hold the barrel in place, slacken off by at least 4 complete turns then carefully twist the barrel out. on re asembly make sure the transfer port in the brass bush which has to be glued to the replacement barrel is in a six oclock position when you fit the replacement barrel. as if it is not correctly aligned the air flow will be masked and affect the power output. Are you changing callibre's as well?? If so you will need a new bolt assembly as a .22 bolt ass, will not fit a .177 barrel . use extreme care when tightening the grub screw that retains the brass bush as overtightening will distort it and will cause pellet damage when loading. Dont be put off it really is a simple job only the four screws to complete removal and reasembly. Quote Link to post

Tron 173
The AA 400/410 series rifles have a brass chamber fitted on the receiver end of the barrel, I have allways used a smear of epoxy resin to secure it to the barrel, this can allways be removed by applying heat to it... If your replacement barrel comes without one fitted you can use your existing one to put on it. Rememember if you are changing calibres from .22 to.177 then your .22 brass chamber will not be any good, you will have to change the Bolt ass, and the brass chamber part. as said earlier it is a simple job to remove/refit. I dont know where you will get a replacement from try Chambers or AArms. the last time I looked a Classic .22 barrel cost £95.00. Cheers. Quote Link to post
