Done the Club thing (big an small)a few times in the past, never again.........starts with the best will in the world, then all goes tit's up later!!

Started one a number of years back (well, re-kindled an old one, that f****d up the first time). All well at first, ran a couple of shows to put some dough in the bank, agreed it to be used for terrier rescue, affiliation (WTF, CA, FMWTC etc) etc. Good shows, well attended, few hundred in the bank, all hell breaks loose.......'We want a night out on it'!!! ...... Eh, we agreed it's for rescue, affiliation etc........' f**k that we earned it an wanna get pissed on it'......."What :icon_eek: ".......

All f****d up in the end........NEVER AGAIN!!!:no::no:

Think when your young or startin out a club seems the thing to feel 'the same', like minded kin........beware.........deep down, we are all very different!!!

I walk alone!!!

Amazing how competative blokes will get over dogs..............if another dog makes there dog look foolish they take it very badly............fecking nonsense!!

Wouldnt have the brains or humility to watch another dog and actually try and learn something.........if its all about beating the next bloke then I suggest they are in the wrong job!

like said earlier the body got to be presented at the end or it dont count ,but the guy that says his rabbit dropped out bag will have purchased a better one now so he learned a lesson :clapper::clapper:

As long as it was caught and in the bag initially. Ive lost count of the number of times we have lost rabbits from bags when running, or the fox has taken a sly one when we leave them near gates to collect later.

But i do not count a rabbit caught, if the dog then leaves it and you cannot find it.

MOLL.

Well, for anyone who is remotely interested, lamper B won his argument, and lamper A left the club, and he was an experienced lurcherman, who was around long before the tall tale tellers started going down the fens with their quitters, and I left shortly after, not so much because of this issue, things like having my telephone conversations taped, people wanting to have boozy nights out rather than fully paid trips to the Waterloo cup, ALC finals and discount dog food for all members, all added nails to the coffin

Moral of the story is;

KEEP AWAY FROM JOINING LURCHER CLUBS

if the dog retreives the bunny back to hand, surely people at the comp should of seen this, yes ive lost bunnies out of my game bag before now, i dont rate any dog that can catch bunnies and just kills and drops them :censored: a big hare or fox, yeah maybe, but not bunnies, should'nt be in a comp if it cant retreive, surely there should of been a ref from the club to witness it?............he could of had two dead bunnies in the bag before the comp :hmm: who knows

one thing for sure, i dont mind get togethers but i'll never do clubs!

I would say if it was'nt in the bag at the weigh in it should'nt count, if it were a fishing competition you could,nt weigh fish that were'nt in the net. But that's just my view, i also think from what i've read i,ll keep well away from such club's, well all club's infact.

The best lamping dog i have ever seen wouldnt retrieve so it just dropped the rabbit and ran back

It's interesting that you don't consider the retrieve as part of the job!

I always consider retrieving to be a bit like dropping your trousers when you have a piss; you don't have to, but it saves a load of work in the long run and is less embarressing in front of your mates

Anyway, back to the poll - in the bag!
