doubledupdogs 11
One of my dogs won't work for anyone else. It isn't a " I'm so amazing" thing, it is a dog confidence thing - he is confident with me, no one else. He will do 3 strides down the beam, then turn back . None of the others do it, so I think it is me/him not a dog problem. theres a lot like that, james bond dogs. Quote Link to post

Bosun11 537
Don't see anything wrong with a dog that'll graft for one person an not another... At least not at first... No jacker in my book... Lets face it, if a dog gets past on, nine times out of ten the person who's got it usually expects miracles first or second time out and with some dogs, that just ain't gonna happen..! We live in a easy come, easy go, chop & change world, most dogs ain't built to keep up.... Push any dog too hard an its gonna spew/quit/jack BUT some folk really do expect too much... Ask yourself before you label a dog a jacker... Have you given it every chance... Nurture, grub, exercise and realistic targets.... Most of all ask yourself this, 'are you as good a dogman as you think you are...'? And 'if' you can answer yes to all of the above.. then you got yourself a jacker... Sickener, but such is the game we are in... Now it's your call... Dogman.... Quote Link to post

danny300 2,240
As you lot seem the experts on jackers , i have a question. Anyone known a dog that was fantastic for one person and totally, and i mean, totally useless for others, i.e, it would run its heart out for one man, but if he wasn't there, it wouldnt even entertain a proper chase? sold a lurcher last year as she had gotten fond of necking terriers the lad that got her said she was useless now this bitch done everything that i put in front of her so i rang the chap to say i would take the bitch back and give him his money back he said he would ring me later and never did. was told he gave the bitch to a lad on here and she is doing all i said at the time. turns out the clown that bought her left her in a pen and then took her out after a few months and expected her to work. the lad he gave her to spent a bit of time with her and she is back doing what she loved doing. sometimes it the person and not the dog thats at fault. 4 Quote Link to post

I had a terrier bitch that was great, I was really find of her and her me. But she wouldn't stop going to ground and kept getting smashed up. I aren't a digging lad, just wanted a ratter and busher so I gifted her to a bloke off here down Kent. Even drove her down cuz he seemed a decent sort. She wouldn't even enter for him. Just froze and started shaking. He tried everything and he is a VERY experienced terrier man. He gave it about 2 months and I fetched her back. The next day I took her out and she dropped to ground for 4 hours... She wouldn't jack for me. She would of died first. 1 Quote Link to post
