I think you have to accept that this year is shite, you have to soldier on and do what you can, look for new land and try to safe guard some populations, maybe even re-stock some places (shut the f**k up, before folk start moaning about it being illegal). Hopefully it will get better in the future. Im planning to assess somethings this summer and move in order to get better access to game, even if that means moving over seas, but i have the luxury of no kids or wife. But as morton says you just need to walk more miles, but it is disheartening as f**k, never seeing owt. Or just give up on the bunnys and hares.

 

Never mind releasing rabbits being illegal, what about how it affects the farmers livelihood? If I caught anyone releasing rabbits on my ground I'd flake the shit out of them

Even if I wanted to re populate I would have to source rabbits from somewhere else.... But where? Anybody want to sell me some live rabbits? Lmao! ( that was a joke before anyone jumps down my throat lol)

You need to allow the population time to recover, if your hunting the same bit of land and taking every bunny you see it goes without saying the numbers will be shite, I'm in the same boat we were having decent numbers a year or so ago but they have had it bad with the weather and a dose of mixy so we will leave them until after spring to see what the numbers are like.

that's the problem tho, we are not doing the same places, all season lamping we haven't had a rabbit to our name! The only rabbits I've had is the ones I've ferreted and that's only around no more than 10 rabbits!

Get a map look at land and get on bus or train, I'm out everyday till my new jobs ready(1 week). I cover over 20 miles a day no shizzle. Permission is good but why get the mish before checking it out? Take the one dog or go solo and snoop about check land out 1st light. Its not illegal its naughty
