Yokel Matt 918
If you could use just one rifle for rabbit shooting... what would it be. When i first got my FAC i found choosing a rifle quite a difficult decision because of the variety available. After trial and error with several models (and haemoraging cash in the process ) i find myself settling on the model that i grew up using that i initially discounted. Although i expect this to be quite one sided i think it would be interesting for people in this same situation to see. Pics would be great if you manage to load them Quote Link to post
Guest JohnGalway
.22lr/bolt action/Sako Quad. I use Eley subs in mine, Winny subs go the same spot but Eleys group better. Had meant to go on a proper rabbit session with her last week but muppets been driving around rabbitville in a jeep has them all spooky, not impressed. She's accurate, 1/2" at 60 1" at 100. Plenty good for bugs. Have no picture of her with rabbits for you but here's a couple of others. Quote Link to post

Yokel Matt 918
I learnt with a .22 CZ with a basic 4x32 on top. My first own gun was a custom Ruger 10/22 that i thought was the dogs bollocks... loads of research and spent a fortune on it... didn't take long to get fed up with the magazine, having to strip the action down to clean, not being able to eject live rounds from the breech when unloading etc. Chopped it in for a Anschutz .17 HMR, probably the most accurate rifle i have ever owned and perfect for rabbits out to 150 meters (trying to sell it if anyone is interested ) ... unfortunatly i can't justify keeping for financial reasons so getting a CZ in .22. Reliable, accurate and cheep to feed... just wish i hadn't lost so much cash finding this out! Quote Link to post

FOXHUNTER 5,021
.22lr bolt action Ruger 77/22 using Winchestwer subs. Thousands of rabbits have fallen to this very accurate rifle , down side is heavy trigger. Quote Link to post
IanB 0
CZ american .22 lr using winchester subs, I prefer the .22 over a .17hmr for rabbits, cheaper and quieter obviously the hmr has advantages but I always seem to go for the .22 Also when lamping rabbits I prefer the laserlite over the lightforce, easier to go out single handed using the battery mount.. easier filter setup and a tighter beam and battery life. James@Scarborough 0
I usually use my CZ .22lr with Win subs. Very accurate, quiet and cheap . Used the .222 for one on wednesday though, hellishly noisey, expensive to run, and very very messy!!!!! Quote Link to post
