You cannot have an air rifle in a public place unless you are supervised by somebody aged 21 or over, and you have a reasonable excuse to do so (for
example, while on the way to a shooting ground).

More info can be............. and should be read here..........http://www.basc.org.uk/en/shooting/airgunning/air-rifles.cfm........... ;)

The notion of innocence until proven guilty has certainly shifted. A lad walking along a road with a cased and secured air rifle in a slip will not be left unchallenged by plod now. And there will invariably be some sneering Nazi and his missus who will happily dob you in if they spot you in the first place.

This country is a f***ing shit hole for grassers, informers and snoopers who cannot live with themselves unless they are on the phone to some pissy little authority to cause trouble where there isn't any, so, don't give them ammo....Not that way, anyway!

Don't... I've had a run in with a fella who's supposed to be the 'area warden' and is basically dressed like a shop security guard with a shit load of boy scout badges. As I was chatting with the owner of death valley recently this twat leapt out of his badged ford fiesta (i kid you not) and gave me the full twenty questions before telling me he'd be informing the land owner that I'd been on his land. To which frank, the farmer and owner that I'd been chatting to, to his eternal credit said ' But I already know he's here, so best you fekk off'

Who the bloody hell appoints these so-called Wardens? I was parked up at Pontefract Castle the other evening to get a few photos of its ruined Keep and Bailey tower from the gates and this overfed cabbage in a Fiesta marked "Wakefield District Council ENFORCER" pulls up, :hmm: takes my car's number and then pisses off as I was going over to ask him what he was going to do with it. What a complete prat! Enforcer of what exactly?

I come from an era where you could walk round your village with a shotgun or rimfire, never mind an air rifle, over your arm, call in the pub for a few with it, then off to pot rabbits and pigeons all day and nobody batted a bloody eyelid...

Now? Forget it!

Load of bloody toss!

I was wondering about that myself,i thought the police were the generally accepted body for law enforcement?! I reckon these wardens are the rural equivalent of the private security bods seen around town centres, but I've no idea who's paying them..
