kev1986 0
tried that mate but he not bothered about it were normally if they both in they jump at them and run into kennel , been thinking of maybe just seperating them for a day and just keep check of him then eventually he should calm it surely cos at the moment they only really apart for say 30 min max so wonder if the longer the better as he might calm down after about 30 min then les and less until he not bothered ..............HOPEFULLY !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! echo 24
All my dogs make a massive fuss when i take one out on its own,They are ok if i walk them seperatly, but if i train one they hate it.If you are worried about complantes, you could put one in a cage indoors and then get the other one out. camokev64 36
Hi, a little confused with the topic in that i presume you are kenneling the pups together ! if so put them in with a quite mature dog if you have the facility, the mature dog will know when it is or not his turn for it`s training session and in the whole will give off an air of calm.Failing this just kennel the dogs separately and put radio`s playing classical music etc so the dog does not hear you coming/swapping dogs for example. But as CASSO states nip any noise made on the training field in the bud.TAKE THE DOG OUT THE ROUTINE SITUATION. So basically follow CASSO`s recommendations Stick in there.. Lets put it in prospective,i tell the Misses,I`m going out for a couple of hour`s training i come back 6 hours later, she ain`t bothered any more ! but it`s me who has to re=warm my supper ! I know what i prefare. Yes a good Lass like mine with no routine. Edited February 10, 2013 by camokev64 Quote Link to post
longy0710 2
I have a similar problem, two labs kennelled together and tried leaving one in the kennel while i take the other one just causes lots of issues around noise. I now take them both out in the car, but only have one out at a time. This works great and saves on fuel lol Good luck Quote Link to post
3175darren 1,100
When you take dog's away from each other, its allways difficult you must make sure the other dog is relaxed and calm, if he is sat at the front of the kennel bolt upright you will struggle, the dog needs to know whineing will not get it what it wants, its a slow proccess will not work when the dog is excited, practice removing 1 dog then giving the other dog the comand to sit wait till the dog in the kennel is calm steady and his body language changes, walk one away a short distance and sit him but be ready to correct the other, the one in the kennel needs to realise that one his mate is removed he must go and layt down,it really is a long proccess but will work if you take your time, while doing sit in the back garden walk one around the other, and away build the distance up slowly, while the other lays calm good luck mate Quote Link to post
kev1986 0
cheers for the advice lads , i can put them in car and drive to training ground but my house backs onto farm so it bit of a wasted journery , i was also thinking of maybe getting one of the corkscrews with attachment to hold dogs down while i do a one on one then swapo them over which will also hopefully elp them be steady while watching the other dog work which sorts the prob for now but on some shoots i could quite easily just take one dog and this is when the prob will arise so i will have try and ut some music on is kennels , i have tried letting him in the house with the mrs and bairn but they are tht focused on me all the time they dont really pay much atention to them and he still whines at door for me she said , the other one i have couldnt give a monkeys when he left alone i might try hiding around corner while other dog in house and just keep correcting him everytime he starts whith hosepipe all there training has gone so well and they are tunring out to be excellent dogs but this little problem really pissing me off Quote Link to post
