:laugh: Cheers Scot. I watched a NASA simulation, aparantly it's the size of an aircraft carrier! :icon_eek:

 

17'000 miles is VERY close in astronomical terms, even Earth terms it's fecking near really! I think I'm right in saying it missed usby approximately 2.5 times the diameter of the Earth (rough calculation).

so really its no that close then lol

seriously though.how many reckon that will be the way it ends for us one day.it happened before,so its not outwith the realms of possibility.also im guessing were not that clever to stop it,if it ever was gonna happen.

I'd say it was pretty close, considering it's size and relative distances. Bit like having a bullet miss ya head by 2ft! Close enough to raise pulses.

 

Dunno if that's what'll kill us. I don't think we could realistically deal with one now. We can't even get to Mars or even the moon, never mind redirect of destroy a world killing asteroid/comet.
