Butterfly Balisong Knife Wanted

Recommended Posts

One of my mates used to order quite a few from china, sorry I dont remember the site, but it was quite a big, reliable one. They used to mark the boxes "fishing tackle or tools" and add a few extra nuts and bolts. I dont know whether it was to get round china`s customs or ours....

Nope, it`s because Balisongs are illegal in the UK

Are they though? I just had a look on butterflyknifebutterflyknifes.com? and they had a world legislation bit on there, and it said that in the uk, their classed as an offensive weapon, is that the same as illegal/banned? For the price they`re asking, I`d risk getting one sent.

Illegal

Trust me mate.. I carry a knife everywhere I go, so I made sure I know the law on them

Balisongs are illegal bud. Thats a foriegn site yer on,, would you really trust them. If customs open and find one in a parcel adressed to you, you have then got to talk your way out of court.

Like I said, legal, illegal, makes no difference, if you want one, you can get them online... I think my mate had about 17 different ones sent through the post, and not once did one go astray and there was never a knock on the door, a few nuts and bolts surely didnt outsmart customs every time? I understand your saying their illegal(to carry) but are they illegal to own, indoors, part of a collection?

Hi they are classed as an offensive per sey that means that it is an offence to sell, offer for sale, import, manufacture or otherwise give away a butterfly knife, or indeed have in your possession in a public place, this rule applies to all listed articles in the offensive weapons act 1988 with

the exemptions of antiques or lawful authority,

Hope this helps

However, carrying on in public is an offense in the UK under the Prevention of Crime Act of 1953. Importing, Sale of, lending, giving or hiring is prohibited by the Criminal Justice Act of 1988 as amended by the Offensive Weapons Act of 1996. It`s also legal to keep an automatic knife that you already own,, but you can`t take it out of the house,, or sell it, or use it, or throw it away.

Just not worth the hassle mate. specially if some FEO clocks anything during a sudden visit.
