Swampy 147
Interesting post and a fair question. I can remember my great uncles springers all being long legged.I believe that over the years dogs have been bred for certain characteristics and ove rthe years there is no doubt that some breeds have got smaller, springers being no exception. Cockers have come back into "fashion" and its nice to see the working cocker claiming back its rightful place over the show cocker. The difference is quite extreme. I don't know the answer to the postee but they're right Springers or some strains of them were without doubt longer in the leg. As to their working abilities I suspect you could keep the thread going forever with everyones opinions. It is each to their own. But I for one will be digging through some old pics to see if the leg has got shorter over the years and will of course provide evidence if found. Thanks for the task ahead. Bossie 90
Why don't you try a munsterlander? Good idea! Quote Link to post
waidmann 105
It would be the small muensterlaender which is liver and white ( large muensterlaender is black and white ) But both are hpr breeds. The German quail dog ( deutscher wachtelhund ) is more like our Spaniel, a Büsing dog with Great nose. As a rule bigger than our spaniels. Waidmannsheil !!!! Quote Link to post
