To define when and where we draw the line at saying somebody is from british roots is just simple common sense surely.....if a few generations are from british roots and they show that in themselves and their offspring and their offsprings offspring then thats good enough for me....im no historian and to be honest i dont really have the knowledge or interest to delve back into history to decide who is and is not worthy of being called british...but i know like i know i have a nose on my face that a brown skinned person with absolutely nothing in common with me from looks to culture is not british...and just because they have a child with someone who is british does not make their next generation british....if bred back to british people where do you then draw the line and say right ok now your british ? well thats a good question and one my uneducated head couldnt put an answer to...but then i guess to the people who need be making those decisions its basic commonsense,which unfortunately the people who make these and all other decisions at the moment,dont have a lot of !

my granddad (82) is polish and came here as a small boy he had no choice as Poland was half occupied by the Germans and the other half occupied by the Russians 6 million polls were imprisoned murdered tortured of this six million 1.7 million were put in cattle trucks and kicked out of there country he came here after traveling for months on end down through Iraq Kazakhstan and Ciro where some of his family died due to a lack of basic medicine he then spent four years in a polish war camp just out side reading where he contracted TB lost a kidney HE WAS ONE OF THE LUCKY ONES and eventually got a job at 13 from the local estate owner he has been a tree surgeon and keeper for the same family for 69 years and counting and payed his way the entire time even if he wanted to go home he could not of. His country did not exist for a while and then when the war ended where and with who was he supposed to go to he lost his mum and 13 siblings along the journey here and it has taken the best part of 50 years to find his sister in America he didn't even know his date of birth until his papers were found when he was 40. what I'm getting at is he has grafted all his life and still is grafting compared with some of the people who are British sitting on there arse claiming benefits and doing drugs with mine yours and his taxes or even some of my British friends who still live at home in to there late twenty's. i agree a lot of the new polls in this country are lazy but give the old guys a break the last thing they wanted was to watch there homes and family's torn apart their land taken from them and to be kicked out of there country.please have some respect
