Mick C. 229
Take him on his own Treat it as a normal days ferreting Net up: anything that escapes through net or unseen bolt hole gives the dog his chance Same routine everytime you go out . You done the training now its down to time in the field Quote Link to post

pip1968 2,490
i have a dog about the same age and he had his first rabbit the other night it wasnt so much a run as the other dog done all the work and turned it towards him but he nailed it and done the lap of honour with it but gave it up when the other dog was out the way Quote Link to post
AshR1 214
all the best mate, got mine her first 2 the other night, i thought she'd bugger off with them, but she walked about 5 or 10 meters away stopped and held it just waiting for me to come get it, in future i'll want it retrieved but you might be surprised mate he might catch and do the same thing and not go off with it Quote Link to post
