Spanish game not really in to table breeds

Spanish aren't a table breed ;)

I had a good line of Dominican Spanish game for a while, they used to come about 4lb in weight, Spanish Game should be a small active bird and not too big or they've probably been crossed with Oxfords or Yanks. They're smart little fowl, give the young plenty of room or they'll kill each other by the time they're 12 weeks old

My mate has a line called gypsy kings and come good weights 4lb + whats rare for alot of spanish

Hence the reason not many keep them pure..........It is a big shame though, there is a line of nice whites being kept pure. The males come pure white with yellow legs and Beaks, with the females are all white with salmon coloured breasts. A lot of the females come with Spurs and the whole family have small straight 'Combes' with little 'Wattles' and tight facial skin......Peas in a Pod, BUT small, with the males top weights of less than 4lb. The guy who keeps them appreciates their history and only the best of what he breeds gets kept alive. They are 'Jerazanos' and came to the Country over 25 years ago! A pair was given to someone, who said he loved them, but they soon got crossed up with 'Lacey Roundheads'. This, so called, line of 'Spanish' now come with some 'Pea Combes' and white Legs, also with brown red being quite a common colour. The males from this 'line' are over 4lb, with an average of 4lb 8oz-4lb 12oz..........HUGE for true 'Jerazanos'..........................in my humble opinion. Don't be fooled by the names some use, like 'GYPSY this and GYPSY that..........many of them wouldn't know a good Bird!! Certainly 'PURE LINES'!
