I'm nt saying she gonna be a basher but her acceleration is astonishing an she can turn on a pinhead seems to put the wind up um some 1 Quote Link to post
boyo 1,398
I know a chap who had several bitchies that caught hares for fun, these were only around 22ins. one bitch the fiddler, was bred of a bitch called kyte, who was 22ins, had 4 sisters who each killed hares reguler in january when hares were at there bast, He recon a bigger dog took to long to catch hares because they couldnt run with there chins on the deck. skycat 6,173
.......and also because they were bloody fast dogs. A small slower dog wouldn't stand a chance. Those little bitches literally drilled hares into the ground and forced them to make mistakes with the dog tight up their arse all the time. I loved watching them run: very impressive. shaaark 10,714
I've had 3 very good hare killers under 23tts, mostly whip/grey with a tiny dash of collie, 1 dog and 2 bitches, and as skycat says, they were all very fast, and caught the majority of their hares within about 20-30 secs. Hunted up during day, and lamped though. No saluki in any of my dogs ever, just don't like em. Anyone else have smaller types without saluki in that were good on hares, hunted up or fair law?
