oooh,

that run has more toys than my kids bedroom!

Do they play with all of them? Which is the favourite? What toys would you recommend?

My ferts arrive in 2 weeks time and the court is ready but devoid of toys. Looking for suggestions (apart from shelves, ramps & pipes).

thanks,

Much like children then in that the box the toy came in gives them as much enjoyment as the toy.

When you say soft squeaky ball, is that a large one or small? Would a tennis ball be an idea? I have no idea what these guys will play with when they arrive.

thanks,

Mine prefer playing with really wierd things.

Paper bags have to be there favotites! The rustling makes them go crazy and start dancing about! I have a little ball too that is filled with treats so when they knock it about they come out.

Only 2 ferrets left now madcowz  1 of them is very strong though. Looks like i will have to find a Hob from a different litter as I had to put him to sleep today :( He seemed alrite yesterday too.....

Zoiks!

Bad news mate. That is very sad.

Is that the healthy jill that is still ok, the one that was up and about when we came over? Are you keeping her?

Do you want some more wabbits? Hopefully going out on the quad tonight with a shotty.

Sorry to take the thread off on a tangent Artemis.

Yes the strong jill is still fine, head and tails above the other Jill. I'm not holding my breath for that one either

I'm not keeping either, I needed a Hob and have got enough Jills for now. 7 weeks old Tommorow, Only seems like yesterday that they were little pink things the size of my thumb!

1 or 2 Rabbits would be great, that should last until next Friday(leaving time) I have one and a half squirrels left. There not going through the food quite as quick now as there is less of them.

Wow! That is a REAL bargain! I just paid £200 for the same thing not 4 weeks ago!! :icon_redface: It took me 20 minutes to assemble (Piece of P**S) but you will need some one to hold it for you, if you have an electric screwdriver; all the better! You may find that the bed area is too big for the ferrets, I improvised and put a shelf up in mine making the top floor the bedding area and the bottom floor the feeding area (Which I drilled small holes in so that the water drains out when I hose it out daily, just to get rid of any unwanted germs) I have mine on concrete and I put small blocks of wood at each corner raising it about .5cm off the ground - this is so I can hose out the faeces with ease and pick it up at the other end of the garden. Each to their own I imagine, you will no doubt find the methods which are best for you  As for your husband, Im sure he'll get over it, my other half did (Eventually :icon_redface: ) Good luck. :victory:

Thanks for those tips - thought it looked similar to your one. I like the way you customised yours - think I'll be taking some of these tips.

I DO have an electric screwdriver (or at least my husband has one I can use!), and I'll prob get my 14y old to help build it! (better than asking Mr Grumpy  who isn't too chuffed I bought it!)...

So, some little blocks of wood at the corners to ease with hosing out the muck - top tip!

Can you show a pick of the shelf in the house please? :notworthy: Just so I can figure out how to do it! Sounds like it will make more space for them too!

I hope they can send mine quicker than expected - I think the boys are seriously in need of a BIG play area!

Sure Mr Grumpy  will get over the purchase eventually, but his car tyre just went this morning on the way to work (had to come back and change the wheel) - so he was moody anyway, and moaning about how that would be another £100.....hate to tell him I just blew £100 on a ferret playhouse! Oh well, hope it arrives just as he's off to wembley to watch the footy!

What is it with grumpy arsed men who basically think nothing of buying beer everyday , oh thats ok but as soon as you want summat that costs more than a tenner they get all mardey & whine  .

Well my grumpy miserable husband will have his arse in his hands tomorrow, while he is at work i am off shopping for nice things :laugh::toast: sod him . miserable pig

Thanks for posting your pictures Jultaylor1972 :clapper: , you're ferret home looks the business! :big_boss: Where did you get the little shelves outside in the run - did you make them or are they something I can buy?

Sorry I didn't reply earlier, but our 3y old found a pair of scissors and snipped through my modem wire  , so we were off-line for a few days...... (something else to make Mr Grumpy even Grumpier!).... :wallbash:

Still, I just disappear out to the garden to spend time with my ferrets when he's in one of his moods! :whistling:

Oh dear it sounds like your treading on eggshells  i know the feeling well, move in with the ferrets there better company
