Well decent size plot for £26 a year .some homemade raised beds ,there's some pallet compost bins and a 6x4 shed that's knackered with no glass and a wasp nest.

So sheds coming down to be replaced,it's overgrown round the edges ,couple tip runs and dig over the beds.

Oh and a rat appeared from under some weed suppressant and nearly jumped in pushchair basket so they will gave to be dealt with, joys of being near the river .

Oh and there's decent fence and gate.

Those calabrese are really good Terry, the parsnip is not bad either. Your getting a good haul out of those plots. Just shows what a bit of hard work can do. Those look like the plots behind Picton road, thats a fair bit of travelling if they are?

Thats the ones Allan I work in town so nip round after work on my bicycle and at the weekends either cycle up or if there is shopping to be done or ferrying me kids around tie it in with that.

They are producing well and after the initial clear up keeping them turned over as I go is not such a big job. Just need to keep constanting planning 6 months ahead so they are not sat empty I don't like that

At the moment weeds and rats lol ,but in all honestly it's a blank canvas the beds are overgrown, but the soils soft underneath,no double digging.

Well more of the same today the toms just keep coming would been nice to have them with the lettuce in mid summer mind not october  but they still make a great sandwich. The calabrese is coming in one go so may freeze a few. Certainly do a lot of seasonal eating with this plot lark never get time to eat the frozen all ways munching on fresh veg

Terry, try the deseire as wedges, wash the skins cut them into wedges biol for about 3 minutes then sprinkle with what ever seasoning you fancy and spray with frylight and stick them in the JML for about 20 minutes on 200. Crispy on the out side soft and fluffy on the inside.

One way to get a good crop of potatoes is to make sure the Ph of the soil is around 5 anywhere between 4.6 and 5.5 is the optimum ph for potatoes. If the ph is too high sprinkle flowers of sulphate over the soil before planting in the spring that should bring the ph down.

Cheers Allan I will get the jml fired up. Also make a note of the ph for the spuds on my todo for next year. My ph is on the plus side of 6 maybe 7 at the moment on both plots

Apparently the lower the PH the better for spuds, bigger yields & less disease. The almost neutral PH you have could account for the wonderful brassicas you are growing.
