Aled 477
Planted the patch up yesterday: Potatoes, Carrots, Beetroot, Radishes, lettuce, leeks, onions, sweetcorn and French Beans all planted. Some light rain today as well so hoping they all thrive. All being well i'll catch a nice sea trout later this summer to eat with my new potatoes! borderboy 80
Been flat out with one thing or another, but finally made a start on the new plot. A dozen ‘no dig’ beds in the last couple of days. Just need to get them planted now, got seed and plug plants everywhere!
borderboy 80
Couple of productive hours at the other plot. Spuds and onions are going alright. Sowed runners, dwarf beans and some peas, then continued the battle with the bindweed, grass and dandelions.
Arry 21,614
Thought I would have a play at growing Onions from the cut off bottom you would throw away as seen on YouTube. First stood the bottom in a cockle jar of water. After a week to two the roots are well formed. Then cut the outside bits that are sort of rotting away. Them plant. This is the stage they are at now. Suppose to get about four onions out of it. Just a bit of fun really be a good thing to get kids interested in gardening I reckon. Cheers Arry

I only grow a few tubs of Spuds and this week thought I had something wrong with one tub so tipped it out. Not that many like you mate but soon became obvious what was wrong the compost was so dry it was like saw dust. Still had a couple of pounds of nice new potato's (Nicola) second early's. Bosun11 537
My carrots are poor this year, I've got two varieties in and both look poor. My Swiss Chard looks bloody good though, as do my bagged spuds and sprouts. Was a bit premature (over keen) with my sweetcorn and should of waited but better weather soon should get it moving. Arry 21,614
Beetroot getting established a row of Leeks, Red Onions in pots with a pot of Radishes. Rainbow Carrots okay but had to put fresh seed in the gaps then a row of Black Salsify (Scorzonera) some short rows of Radish. Runners first flowers have set. Onions doing okay. Garlic nearly ready to harvest. Cutting first Cucumbers the Tomatoes are coming on but still green. Put in Purple Sprouting seeds (Claret and Rudolph) and some Savoy seeds to go in after there Garlic and Onions are out. Cheers Arry
Arry 21,614
Well the Mini Cucumbers (Merlin) are doing good. Small Sun Gold Tomato's are just starting to turn. The larger Tomato's (Shirley) just showing signs of turning. The rest are behind, getting too much shade this year from an Oak tree. Cheers Arry
