Jamie m 668
I've had good results growing longer rooted veg like carrots and parsnips in toilet rolls, you get undisturbed tap roots. In the bathroom ???
Jamie m 668
My Mange Tout is struggling but my salads are shooting up. Corn to go in, Beetroot is coming on, tatties are doing well, spinach is going mental, peppers are the same. Bought a Hybrid apple tree which seems to be doing well, will post more soon. terryd 8,373
Bit of hoeing on plot one this morning. These plots get so much easier to handle once you tame the buggers. Things look nice with netting off and easy to work but it wouldn't last long unnetted. Red cabbage, kale and cauli runner bean patch and plenty of cardboard for the slugs these things need to stop going mad dwarf beans and out door toms few broadbeans spuds looking good now goosegogs hopefully they don't all drop off before they ripen like last year looks like I should have pruned me raspberries last year

jok 3,210
Tiercel. We don't even mention the word b----t down our allotments. We are virtually clear of it. Our biggest problem by far, as regards veg, is that dreaded little brown grub which decimates the onions. I've 2 beds, near enough 120 plants which are curled up like with he's fingernails. Last year it got in the leeks as well. New spuds are eating very nice, maybe I already said, Arran Pilot. Everything salad being eaten on a daily basis so all good. Jok.
