Was doing some general tidying in the PT, trying to get stuff outside, as it is certainly getting a bit warm in there for a lot of things. By 0900 it was already nearly 19 degrees outside, and about to hit 40 in the PT, so we opted to do this instead.

Sounds sensible ! I went for beach, then coffee and cake with the daft friends and their equally daft dogs that agreed to play beach walks on a sunday, and home via the ice cream van, and now glass of white, with the assurance that I will work harder on the PT in the morning !

Dog smells of seaweed, but was prevented from rolling on the decaying spider crab body, which was an unexpected bonus. He can get chucked in the sheep dip trench in the morning for a wash. Too tired tonight !

I'll show some nice pics of the allotment before long. I'm just waiting till everything is looking at it's best. Another week or so I think. We are at the very middle of England so the beach walk is tough. We use chicken shit instead of seaweed. Lol.

Worked in the poly tunnel most the day trying to catch up, using the capillary matting again but only on tomatoes and cucumbers, peppers and chillies will just sit in normal pots and see how I get on as I don't think they liked been damp all the time

Traded a few eggs for a climbing courgette plant which needs to go in, anyone grew one as I didn't thing you got climbing ones and if you have are they worth it. Last year was my first year and I grew all sort for the sake of growing this year I want to use my space wisely

Fella next to me trains his courgettes on a frame much like a runner bean set up. He seems to do ok. Never Fcking weeds though the prick. Drinks a lot of my beer as well. Double prick. Love him to bits. Good looking company he keeps. Triple prick.

Well great excitement i might get a decent onion this year :victory: not in the bag yet but i have two spots that are now looking good

now the only difference in the the two spots that are failing is I think I worked on the ground when it was too wet so didn't get a nice crumb only guessing mind.

Bit like my spuds my mates went in possible a month after mine yet his tops are 3 times the size of mine and I suspect whats underneath would be the same. Patience and timing things right pays at the end of the day. Mine went in early while the soil wasn't ideal then got whacked by the frosts which knocked them back as well. Hopefully I will remember this lesson next year :D but I think I said that last year too
