terryd 8,384
Checked the cobs today still not ready yet as for pollination won't know until I pick one but fingers crossed no luck with the out door toms straight from green to blight raspberries I dug up out of a vacant plot are doing better than the ones I paid for. Hopefully get a good crop next year once they are established cauli gone bit past it but be ok for cauli cheese Edited September 6, 2015 by terryd

low plains drifter 10,313
Moved in to a new house so thought I'd have a go at growing some veg,the garden didn't have much space so decided to use a few pots and containers, the greenhouse was so that was a good thing,I brought two raised beds chucked some horse muck in and mixed it with top soil,a few digs over through winter and should be ready for planting next year. Any advice would be good as I'm a growing novice Could grow some winter onions, shallots and garlic in your raised beds, if not what about a green manure to stop soil erosion and give a bit of colour winter tares or field beans
