Tiercel 6,986
Terry, those onions are not that bad had worse myself. Tip. Use ethe ones with the thicker necks first. Add this to your list, Do NOT grow onions from sets. Grow them from seeds and never plant them out before May the 6th. Even heat treated sets bolt and because they are grown in the same ground year in year out they are very susceptible to white rot. The best onions I have grown were Balstora cracking yield thin necks and keep very well. I read the other day that Medwyns are doing a F1 hybred with Balstora and Ailsa Craig and by all accounts it is a cracker. http://www.google.co.uk/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=1&cad=rja&uact=8&ved=0CCIQFjAA&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.medwynsofanglesey.co.uk%2Farticles%2F303%2Ff1_hybrid_exhibition_onions&ei=9STQU_2VMMqx0QXMuYGgAQ&usg=AFQjCNG9UBiUN2svyLEyDp84nzgYE8UYAg TC
