I went up at 8,done hours work.got last of the grass out, that I never got round to doing in top corner of plot,it was about 2ft high, lol

Left a few spud plants in ground that I found amongst it,

My spuds started to flower but won't get. Huge crop,as I never got round to earthing them up.

Just got to do weeding as they are getting out of control.

I'm just going to look for cheap heras for a new chicken run,and scaffold boards for raised beds.

Very envious of every ones fruit loads of raspberries the size of strawberries and plenty of black currents. Birds are having a great time of it saw a black bird nearly have a hernia trying to fly off with a raspberry.

Seems to be the neglected allotments have the most fruit too. Going to have to sort some thing for next year

My runners, the flowers are just dropping off. I have tried spraying them in the eveningI trickle water them through the day and the bludy flowers are not setting they are supposed to be self pollenating aswell. Been like this for the last three weeks.

I grew a new variety of spud for me this year, Winston, what a yield huge potatoes for first earlies, nice flavour, but terrible texture, watery as hell.

lifted some first earlies tonight myself, pentalnd javelin, biggest were fist sized, nice clean whit spuds, but i remember lifting spuds with my dad and he'd have almost half a bucketfull per plant, i have got 6 different varieties in this year,2 first earlies, 2 second earlies and 2 main crop tatties, i'll keep you informed as to the results of the rest of the crop. ideally, i'd like to find a variety that suits my soil and needs, then just plant the same sort, about 2/3 weeks apart so they are spread out, my first earlies, seconds and main crop look to be at the same stage tbh.

went tonight didnt notice a hole in the side of the netting. pigeons must have got in and ruined all the sprout plants . start again with that one.

That is a pain darbo I didnt think they would be that keen to enter a netted section for fear of getting trapped. But seen few flapping about stuck in other peoples netting. If I catch any in mine they will be introduced to mr short crust :)
