Not sure why. Strawberries are nearing giving me fruit Garden table and chairs out POTATO! right in amongst my onions, thought i'd got all of last years but obviously not. darbo 4,774 Posted June 15, 2013 Report Share Posted June 15, 2013 some of my shallots are going brown on the tips do they need pulling? a fellow on the site said yes, not a clue to be honest, i wait until they start to turn yellow and start to fall. they can be then put in a greenhouse or potting shed and left to dry out the stems will wither off. you can then store them in a cool dry place for eg a shed. they can last anything between 8-12 month. you can put them on strings like onions or split them and store individual its up to you. you can also let them dry out when lifted outside if its hot weather for a few days if there is no forecast of rain. 1 Quote Link to post Share on other sites

Don't have much luck with any other seedlings though seems constant battle to keep them right temp and moist enough. Glad I recently got the allotment seeds seem to fly down there.
