amentalcat 3
They are a lovely breed that i'm sure will get more and more popular, very quiet and soft in the house, but great in the field as well. I am not too fond of Weims either, but i think these are a lot more like a toned-down GWP, they have the working abilty, but just slightly smaller and slightly less nutty!. I believe they mature a wee bit faster as well. All the owners i have met are totally smitten with them. If i was looking for a HPR, this is the breed i would have. Ali Quote Link to post
waidmann 105
I would not compare the Slovak to a gwp ( I have both), I would say the Slovak is far more laid back and not as hard by nature, very balanced. Very eager to please and VERY clever !!! ( sometimes too clever!) I find they are a very loyal and friendly breed ( as Paul says stoaty1 and quiglee on this site have them too) The coat is practically waterproof! ( I spend long days rough shooting in all weathers and then take the dog into the hide for evening duck,I have yet to see her shiver) They love the water. Anyone interested in the breed feel free to pm me and I will help out where I can. Waidmannsheil!! Quote Link to post
