Lab 10,979
how far will they go All depends on what blanks you buy and what weight your dummy is. They will go plenty distance for training a dog to it...... Quote Link to post
camokev64 36
im considering getting a dummy luncher to teach my springer to associate pointing gun in the air to getting ready to retrieve, and marking falling birds. If it`s the hand held type be careful at first if you are using it with a relatively young dog, you`ll be surprised how big a bang comes of one ! They are a good tool to use in static retrieve training but beware if you are using it in conjunction with quartering then retrieving format .The simple reason being as we all know how cute dogs can be,the spaniel will soon start to focus his attention on you rather than quartering in anticipation of the retrieve. stroller 341
make sure you dont let the dog have every retrieve or on shoot day your dog will claim every bird Quote Link to post
Mooch. 177
Yes, brilliant. Make sure you follow the instructions on how to hold it correctly (they give quite a kick) and wear hearing protection. I lost my hearing for a couple of minutes and bruised my hip the first time I fired mine! Quote Link to post
wilbur foxhound 480
mooch is right,my mate broke his wrist firing it the wrong way,if you hold it with the heel of your hand facing away from you, then you hardly feel the recoil, atb wf Quote Link to post
