Target Shooting With Grandad

Recommended Posts

Well lads i think iv found a top marksman my grandson was staying at mine last night and this morning i was cleaning my rifle and ethan aked if he could have a shot of it i did not think he wud hit the target never mind shoot the way he did so i locked the yard gate so no one could walk in and get hit then i told him what to do and he said i know i play this on my playstation we had to shoot from my sitting room floor out over the yard i put a knock down target up on top of the wheelie bin and then sat down and watched him hit them with every shot so i put a shoot n, c target up and as you can see the results the distance is only 16 yards but ethan is only 8 years old so its a trip to the gun shop now for his first rifle then a trip to the range to see what he is like over longer distance will let you all know what happens but it looks like iv got a new shooting partner atvbmac ps sorry the photos are not the best

He's definitely got talent. I took my 11yr old daughter to the range and she spent half an hour showing one of the range staff how easy it was to hit a 9mm bell target at 20 yds. I felt sorry for the guy as he had made it look quite difficult :)

Good for you Mac bringing on your grandson into shooting. He'll be a fine shot for your help and time spent with him. This is something he will look back on and treasure.

Keep us informed of his progress with you mate.

All the very best to you both Mac.

Took my daughter for another session on the range yesterday. 13 out of 14 shots range the bell at 20 yds. Couldn't believe how annoyed she got for missing that odd one, I think everyone in the building got the blame at some point. Now she is insisting she is ready to chose a rifle for 'my collection' over which she can have first shooting dibs. I sense this shared hobby is about to get expensive. Also took inspiration from you Bigmac and bought her some of the targets you are using that show the shot up clearly for us to use in the garden - cheers mate

Just got back from the range and he was hitting the spiners at 34 yards with both the raider and the s200 so im well chuffed with him looks like a new s200 is on the cards for him (even though iv all ready orderd one for him ) he did not get the chance to fire a springer so he will have to wait until i get my prosport witch iv all ready put away with a wallnut stock and in 22 flaver and those shoot n c targets are good especilly when setting up your scopes or checking zero at night ,if your daughter is eny thing like my sons it will have to be the best  and will cost a fortune :cray: atvbmac
