Insurance !

Recommended Posts

I have been looking around to renew my insurance as it is about due.

I know there is a choice of many that offers much of the same stuff but I have stumbled upon this one.

British Airgun Shooters’ Association

They state the facts.....

Join the British Airgun Shooters' Association today and you are automatically entitled to up to £2 million Third Party Public Liability Insurance cover* for any one incident.

The BASA is the only association exclusive to airgun shooting and runs in partnership with Britain's largest shooting organisation - the British Association for Shooting and Conservation (B.A.S.C.) - to protect the future of airgun sport in the U.K.

Get £2,000,000 Shooting insurance for less than 6p a day by joining the British Airgun Shooters' Association. it works out £19.95 a year.

I have been a member of the NGO for years now but the prices are beginning to creep up now. £40 a year

I have also been a member of Country cover club £24.95 p.a and they do a 6 month policy for £14.95

Then there is BASC £46 for air-gun membership and £66 for full membership

What do you think is the best option ?

I do not mean necessarily for the price but for how good and helpful they are in the event they are needed.

I must admit the price difference between some are quite big.

If you know of any others that will cover me for personal use ( Not for business ) with a air-gun please direct me in that way.

Like everyone I want the cheapest but also the best as in help and assistance .

Any advice here please or is my initial thoughts of the British Airgun Shooters’ Association the best one at that price.

Thanks Steve

Dont waste your time with BASA :nono:

Been there, done that, got three months free outta them, but my experiance with them was nothing like what they promissed. Waited forever to get a set of badly photocopied documents and 'tokens' for free entry to the comps.

Emails not responded to, feck knows what would have happened if I'd actually had to claim! It also took 13months for my 'Membership" Card to arrive and then they got stroppy when I'd cancelled the Direct Debit

Go direct to BASC  So far they have fought my corner, dealt with the Local Government AND brought them to their knees. An update to this saga will be done either tonight or tomorrow :drinks:

Thanks Tony !

That's a statement

You must know about this issue mate and I appreciate your reply.

I can see your need for the best in your eyes mate and believe me I am not going against the fact in any way shape or form as really I do not know.

But what’s the crack on the NGO stuff that I have had for years as a personal / hobby insurance as opposed to others mate ( If you know about that by any chance )

And also the SACS membership that Paulus mentioned.

Been a NGO member that has never had any reason to contact them apart from renewing my membership I do not know any different.

OR do you simplify the chase and do a BASC membership as mandatory procedure.

I like the best cover and the best customer service and help that’s out there.

Thanks Steve

Steve,

I had just written a blooming great post as a follow up to the Warning for Tennants thread I started last year, as with BASC's expertise today I had the whole lot brought to a very satisfactory conclusion.

However I hit the back button :duh: and lost the fecking lot :wallbash: So I'll retype it in word and paste it on here tomorrow.

You'll see the value in their customer service and their legal knowlage that you can call upon at any time :notworthy:

oh and their insurance cover is ten million as opposed to BASA's two million.

Check out the "Airgun Only" deal from BASC. Cheaper than the full Membership if you only use airguns

I had no problems with BASA other than the usual delay on sending the paperwork out.

This year however I decided to spend another £7 and go with SACS through this site. Now waiting for documents!

I tried a few years ago the one through here Mike.

I'm still waiting for the email to be returned! How'd you manage to get through to em?

but the 3 month delay in any documentation is a bit of a hindrance when you are telling a perspective perm owner about how you are insured !! but then follow it up with "but i have no proof" makes you look a twat, cost me a maybe perm for sure.

Took them 4 weeks with mine! I had no real problems with them.
