Guest foxtrack
do you think working terrier and lurcher shows should have the name (working ) terrier and lurcher added to thier title any more Quote Link to post

Guest SJM
Since theres no way to test whether or not a lurcher or terrier works in the confines of a show ring, I would also vote NO Quote Link to post
THE POACHER 13
most of the dogs at these shows are nothing more than show dogs and thats a fact there is lads there that work thier dogs but alot more that dont Quote Link to post

Guest foxtrack
why i ask, a friend of mine went to a show in s,wales yesterday . the terrier judge was brian nuttal,he showed his dog, got slung and then told a nice working type but would never win a show. what a pity, from a man who has worked the black ones all his life, to favour the smart non working type. and i cn bet he favourd the smart lakeland type to. a real shame Quote Link to post

Guest ROOSTER
NO, they should call them tidiest terrier show Quote Link to post
Guest SHOT
why worry about it,never been to a show myself i dont get it why people with proper grafting terriers would go to the trouble of trying to get placed in a ring by somebody who couldnt possibly know a GOOD grafter standing over it and groping it even if the top 20 dogs in the country turned up abolutley nothing can be measured at a show. so why do folk that work terriers get so bitter about it? Guest JDF
i went to one here this year for the first time in fifteen years, what i saw were the same people that were at the last one still showing dogs they don't work, strange people. Quote Link to post
madhunter 16
should def not be called working terriers .I go to a few but just for day out and very seldom take my terrier but my young son likes taking his lurcher pup to them as she is realy nice looking .But he no,s that it is about what she can do in the field as shows are only for a laugh and to meet up with some old friends .And maybe buy a few things Quote Link to post
