Take for example golf course rabbits as compared to rabbits in tufty fields surrounded by drystone walls 1 Quote Link to post
FUJI 17,328
Great looking dog looks versatile He's a handy type of dog..just a pleasure to have around, not a slow dog at all, very athletic with a do or die attitude for everything he runs, eager to please and never knows when to quit..this is my second bred almost identical to each other and the other was the best dog I've personally owned and I've had some pretty good dogs over the years..they suit some people and obviously not others...it really does depend on what and where you hunt that deciphers if one would suit you?.. Neal 1,874
I had a 3/4 collie 1/4 greyhound from Hancock's third litter of Richard Jones x Linnet. He was a great old dog with loads of character. I agree that, on paper, a dog with more base blood than sighthound may not be fast enough for rabbits but it depends how the dog works. I now catch a lot more game with my 4/4 kelpies ( ) than I did with previous lurchers simply because they're better in the kind of terrain where I work them i.e. small fields, overgrown hedgerows and even more overgrown ex-coppiced woodland.
