I usually ask for an estimate before the works carried out. Sometimes you need to bite the bullet. I would never not pay anyone I've asked to do a job for me and they've done it to the best of their ability.

im the same always ask first as you say would always pay but if i thought someone was ripping me of i would query it would never rip anyone of and dont expect it done to me :thumbs:

i took one of mine with a bad leg injury where the muscle wanted stitching to the closest vets to where it happened, the first question they asked was "do you have insurance", "No" they replied " the cost will be £300 and we want a £200 deposite before we treat him" :icon_eek: in the end the bill was £296.40p

I think a lot of vets are cautious with getting paid for treating working dogs. I know a couple of guys who've bumped them. That sounds about the right price paulus and the right kind of wound to go to the vets, not a wee cut lol

A boy i know was getting his dog stiched and while the dog was under the gas he was getting the dew claws taken off his vet quoted over £350 told him to give the vet ive used for years the same work £155 why is there so much of a difference think its obvious ones a rip of :thumbs:

It came to ..... £785. If the dogs life hadnt been in danger they wouldve been told to fuckoff .....
