Attack Fell Terrier 864
Speaking of drink driving in Ireland I seen some council worker asking if they could let a few of the locals in the area he works for drink drive because they get lonely in the house lol. The fella looked like he'd had a few tots before the interview himself lol. I couldn't believe what he was asking, especially a man in his position lol. Quote Link to post

I don't know mate, let them them drink drive and see the mayhem that ensues. Alchohol is a contributing factor to mental health problems and does have a hand in people commiting suicide the world over. If loneliness is such a problem then why not just jump in a taxi like everyone else does? I don't mean to sound like I'm looking down my nose at people in those positions, believe me I know all to well about struggling with mental issues but I can't see how this is going to help those poor people who find themselves in such a desperate position. What ever the case I hope they're able to find a solution to the problems they're going through over there. 1 Quote Link to post

What ever the case I hope they're able to find a solution to the problems they're going through over there. the thing is pal, in most parts of rural ireland, taxis aren't readily available, there are parts of this country that would make rural england look like a modern metropolis. i agree that alcohol has a big impact on mental health, but the social interaction would lessen it to a degree. what i mean is, you would be a lot less depressed in the pub with mates than if you were in a house drinking by yourself, staring at the same four walls. That is true, but if the council over there are so concerned about this then could they not sort some sort of transport rather than have people drink and drive? I think allowing people to drink drive is a real bad idea. Quote Link to post
