Wonder how many day time lads are giving old sally a week or two after the snow to get her strength back let alone yards? .

There has only been snow onthe ground for a week down the fens. Why would the hare need Time To recover even with snow on the ground theres still plenty to eat .sugar beet rape leaf.ect .answer to th

i was out the last 2 days with the pups seen them in 4s an 5s thet are pairing up and some young out there to.i just kept the pups on the leads when going through certain land there should be a good lot for next season . :thumbs:

now now i traveled a fair bit TO exercise the pups.LOB :laugh:

I know its hard sometime in ireland with small fields.But on good open land if a hare gets up at your feet would u give it a bit of a start .

 

I suppose that all depends on if your out to kill some tackle or test your dog.

 

Obviously we are not talking about organised coursing as that's a different matter in my eyes

All depends on where your hunting if you can give law or not.Lots hares going to gound now days jst wonder if the does are having there young in the pipes and holes and thats how the young know where to head to get away?????

ya i was out with dogs last week an one came out of a magpies nest

:yes: saw a hare not long ago sitting in the entrance to a road drain pipe licking its paws not a care in the world they are adaptible creatures

Watched good few dvds where plent go to ground over england but have seen few going to ground over here myself.In Darcys new book one off the men he is talking to seen young hare head straight down a hole once it seen him

30 yards 300 yards the dog gets slipped. Just like everybody else .dont listen to the bullshit on here.

They all slip.

Once out with Big E and 1st run l got it went to ground in a 4 hole sett in the south.Me Brendy out last year and one went down badger sett and another this year.Seen two this year one down rabbit sett and another into rock pile and that was up in semish.Seems the rather hide then run if they get away once by doing it surely they do it again .Could this get pasted on to the young?????

iv seen a few going to ground but i dont think there nesting down there lol
