Bosun11 537
One... and if it's the right one, then thats all you'll ever need..!!! The more you have, the less they work.... Quote Link to post
paulus 26
One... and if it's the right one, then thats all you'll ever need..!!! The more you have, the less they work.... all depends on what you do with them, one hound is useless but a pack is something else Quote Link to post

.WARREN. 288
At the least, 2, and at the most 5 - ranging from a 23" TTS whippety type, great for bunnies, up to a 34" TTS who would take most things. 2 of mine are the main breadwinners, one is elderly, the other 2 are just a bit useless but lovely characters, and as a whole the pack is a lovely mix. 34tts thats a big dog,how it bred, any pictures Quote Link to post
WILF 47,997
One... and if it's the right one, then thats all you'll ever need..!!! The more you have, the less they work.... Wise words mate, folk always want more than they need.....I have been as guilty as anyone else of getting more than I have the work for. The reality is not many people have enough work to give one good dog all it could take, that's not a dig at anyone just a plain truth. You need some amount of tackle and a massive level of enthusiasm to work good dogs to the max, I certainly don't and can't and I have only met a very few lads that do and can. Most have them to make themselves happy and there's nothing wrong with that as long as your honest about it with yourself. When you see folk with 5,6,7 dogs and they blag on that they are all getting grafted you just know its complete nonsense........those that know better, know better! So in reply to the OP, I would say one good one and if that is seeing plenty then a decent sapling following up behind when the old dog is getting a bit grey round the whiskers. 7 Quote Link to post
