Bin offered this air gun and a nikko sterlin scope from a friend it has a larger spring in it and also a gun slip and pellets..

 

How much would u guys pay for this gun???

 

And also do i need a license to get this gun in scotland???

Well if the scope REALLY is the highest power you can fit on that gun, it's probably going to be worth a few grand on its own

But guessing that you have been lied to about the scope, and what do you mean by a BIGGER spring? Length? Width? Power? The Hw95 is pretty close to the legal limit from new, IF it has "a Bigger" spring it could well be over, and that usually means a bit of R+R on B-Wing if you get caught.

 

On the other hand, if its all pretty standard, with a half tidy scope, then thats about the going rate, Maybe a little too high, depends on the Scope and extra's really.

My Bad! I just realised you said the most powerfull Nikko Sterling scope, some are not bad, Most are middle of the road, but sufficent.

Hi mate,

 

Going off your description and what you say about the rifle and scope I think that your friend is spinning you a yarn.

 

If your talking about a OX spring then your lovely HW95 is going to be illegal and shooting very inaccurately to what it would at 11.5 FPE with its original HW spring.

 

Dont be fooled to think mate that a bigger spring = better accuracy with the higher power mate. More than 90% I would say your rifle will be worse.

 

Its no good having a rifle that shoots 18 FPE but cant group better than 1 inch at 25 yards.

 

Second hand, played with and sounds illegal. I wouldn't pay any money for it pal. For £385 you could get an excellent condition HW95 and scope that is legal and consistent.

 

My best advice to you is get it chrono-ed before you make up your mind.

Can buy a brand new one for under £300 your mates taking the piss. I wouldn't touch the thing knowing full well if over the legal limit. Unlinced section 1 firearm isn't going to look good when you get pulled by the cops

Walk away Craig. You can buy a new HW95 for £300 or less. And there are decent scopes about for less than eighty quid nowadays. This one you've been offered is tampered-with and probably next to useless with an Ox spring. You'll need to spend good money to get it back to where it ought to be.

Take a look at some of the secondhand ones in the online gun shops. Blackpool airrifles has a good few spring guns at a lot less than the price you have been offered. I had a hw 95 a few years back it was a big mistake selling that.

i love my hw95k, there amazing rifles and shoot very well and consistent with the factory spring, mines running at 11.1ft lbs

 

this one you have been offered looks like a no go... buy a brand new one then get a half decent scope and you cant go wrong mate
