For a low price but pure accuracy and quality you wont go wrong with either a single shot or multishot BSA Ultra mate.

As your also targeting rats though in the dark I would think about going down the multishot route as reloading in the dark for a quick second or third rat can be frustrating in single shot.

Another rifle thats gaining some good reviews is the Brocock Super 6 XL.

Depends on your budget and which gun you like the look / feel / fit off.

Everyone will recommend different things depending on what they personally prefer. These days most PCP guns are as accurate as each other, so its not really a question of which gun is better, its more as to what the individual prefers or can afford.

I shoot an Air Arms s410 in .22. I tried the HW100 out and found it a bit to heavy for me. I found the s410 carbine to be perfect. Nice & light for carrying about a field - short enough to shoot from a car or truck, and a huge amount of shots per fill. Money wise, you can pick them up for £350->£450 and they hold their value. So in 12 months time you can probably sell and get every penny back. Deadly accurate, pellet on pellet out to 45->50 yards without a problem. And with the 10 shot magazine, you just pull the bolt back to reload.

Ive shot more rabbits than I can count with mine over the years. I service it every couple of years - easy to do this yourself and a seal kit costs hardly anything.
