secretagentmole 1,701
Look through the scopes Roger, like guns, what suits one will not necessarily suit another, I like Hawke scopes, have no problems with their optics, but MTC, had hellish white out problems with one of Mary's! Other people report no problem! So look and see what seems good to you! Quote Link to post

pipa 299
If you're shooting a 22 cal I don't think you can go far wrong with a hawke SR12 ret, I love mine, I think they have a new SR Range out now at the mo? Chris 1 Quote Link to post
Mawders 595
Hawke panorama and you get 50 quid change then even if you buy the top spec larger diameter 50mm version. Lovely reticule and crystal clear. Great for every day use. 1 Quote Link to post
pianoman 3,587
Have to say I agree with Chris/pipa, I love the SR12 reticle Hawke have for my HW77. I have a Hawke Panorama EV IR 4-12x50 mildot on my HW97KT and it's a beauty. The only reservation I have about Hawke is they do not seem to last as long as Simmons or Bushnell on my spring rifles. Lovely scopes for the money, but, somehow, they seem just not that tough and long lasting. And I really, REALLY look after and cherish my rifles, scopes kit with pedantic TLC! Quote Link to post
Halfinch 51
I like the Philippine made Simmons Aetec scopes, Fantastic clear image and low light capability for the money, and as Pianoman says, they are tough too, never had any problems with them on my springers. I have a MTC viper on my HW100 which is also a very nice scope. I've never used top end optics, so couldn't say how mine compare to them, but I can't see how they would be any better at the distances I'm capable of shooting. 30-40 yds Quote Link to post
zini 1,939
I also use the Hawke Panarama EV AO IR models and have both the 4-12 x 40 mm and 50 mm versions. For general hunting, plinking and HFT I think the 40 mm version is my favourite. It comes with a half mildot reticule which is very clear from 4 to 12 mag. You have a blue and red ir if needed for shooting in low light situations. If you had a .22 and wanted to spend a little more money then I would go the new Hawke SR Pro route mate. Like the SR12 ret but a lot better and instead of using between 12 and 14 mag to gain 5 m interval spacing on your ret, this one works from 8 to 10 mag. Si. Quote Link to post
