Tiercel 6,986
It's good to see that after the weekends rugby that It is not just the Welsh who are getting ahead of thenselves, I have read posts ( on rugby forums) where Wales are going on to win the championship????? FFs they have just won their first match out of nine. That was more by luck than judgement ( a little tounge in cheek that last remark) Two games in and the Sais are saying a grand slam is on the cards. FFS there is no shame in hoping, but to state that there is no one to stop them is just.........silly TC
R.A.W 1,987
Luckily for us, our trick seems to be beating the other teams! ...so far. you can only say that when you've got a few recent grand slams under your belt. I agree, if you're talking historically, but i'm talking about the facts from this competition so far. I'd even stick my neck out and say it's England's time for a Grand Slam. no forking chance . you have a chance but there's lots of rugby still to play. Yesterday when I cheered England on for today, I got the "no chance" response from someone else. Haven't heard a word from him today. Let's just see shall we? I'm always going to cheer my own team on, aren't I? as you should mate. and good luck not too much
walshie 2,804
I can see I'm going to have to buy a load of hats for you all to eat when the 6 nations is over, in case you haven't got your own. Don't make me report you all for picking on the English.
gonetoearth 5,144
First of all well done to England on a game that was played tight and where handling errors and penalties was always going to be the deciding factor ... BUT if England play a closed defensive game like that against either France or Wales they are going to lose ... France and Wales both enjoy a free flowing game testing and probing defence of a spur of the moment break .... England came close to scoring once only today and that will never put points on the board against a free flowing team ... France next for the English they will be thoroughly dejected at to losses in a row and will be hungry for a win .... If the French coach has the minerals to chop the squad and change at least 5 of the team then it will be a match worth watching ... Lots of questions to be answered by the English coaching team in the backs ... Very lack lustre with no flair ...... . The weather conditions brought out mistakes from both sides sock. Rain does not make for good ball handling. The ability to adapt And keep discipline Told even if there were break downs like a petulent kick of the ball that got him sin bined even then the rose to the challeange am not saying there world beaters by no means but they played as a team and won. Acorns and oaks eh GET YEH FRENCH SHIRTS OUT THE CUBOARDS. LADS LOL. Fookin ipad Edited February 10, 2013 by gonetoearth
Malt 379
Much as I'd love to see the good France team turn up to play rugby at Twickenham in a fortnights time, I'd also like to see France win the wooden spoon for the first time in living memory so I'm a bit split on that one! Malt 379
I'm no expert on rugby just thinking Socks do you not think England can change there styleformation depending on the opposition , so when playing France and Wales they will play a system to suit there opponents ?Not really mate no, the 8-2-5 formation is pretty much set in stone and the rules made round it, it ain't football! Different rules apply to different positions in certain scenarios, so all you can really do is to pick your players accordingly and try dictating the flow of the game on your own terms.. They got booted out and readmitted at some point, didn't they? Something to do with payments to players and the amatuer status of the game, as it was back then.. I've got a book about the 4 nations championship here somewhere, it was my granddads, think its from the 70's..
