hi all i am in the proses of building another harness so i thought i would do a step by step acount on how i build one from start to finish. i am not a trained leather worker i am self tought but this is my way. i have only just started this tonight so have only got a little of it done but will ad pics and write ups at a later date.

hears a few tools that i will need to start with

130220131198_zps9e2f54ce.jpg

all the straps are cut out now ready to be cut to the sizes you need and dye and burnish the edges but i will cover all this to moz this is the 1st little bit i can show you all as its a little late to stat anymore as i am tired and don't wont to make any costly mistakes.thanks for looking and reading this more to follow

2nd part is after you have cut the straps you take the edge bevler and round off the edges like so front and back

130220131200_1_zps41b304d2.jpg

now we dye the edges once they have dride we wet the edge and burnish you just rub the wheel back and forth till the edge goes hard and shines thhis compacts the edg of the leather and helps protect from the weather

sorry rubbish pic but the edge is burnished

140220131214_zpsbd18a173.jpg

strips all done now we start to put together the harness start with some holes for the rivets

140220131218_zpse96130e6.jpg

140220131219_zps307184e5.jpg

then you get a this as the result a couple of y shaped leather straps

140220131220_zps12ee5c50.jpg

then take ya adjustable stitch groover and make the lines in the leather so the stitching will sit lower
