3 and counting 22
Took the girls out for their second outing earlier. Worked a small group just in an orchard and came up blank. Moved across to another group and looked a bit more promising. Sent Pogo down as she is a little shy and only out for the second time. Last time she didn't actually bolt any but I guessed she was trying to tell me they were there. She willingly disappeared down the hole and was gone for a while, popped her head out from another hole but wouldn't come all the way out. She was doing this last time and turned out there was one down there but missed the hole it bolted from. Decided to send the other (freya) down as she had bolted the last ones, last week. Down she goes followed her with the finder and lost her after 8ft down. 10 mins passed and still no sign of her, thinking that I may have to wait for her to re-appear. Tried the locator again and she was below the largest hole in the group (around 7ft) then lost her again, as quick as I found her. Rabbit! I heard from one of the boys with me, turned around and a nice sized doe pursed lovely in a net a couple of holes across. While sorting this one out another decided to bolt from a hole i was standing beside before the first bolted. Freya appeared at a hole a and looked as if to say whats all the fuss about. Re-netted the holes and tried to send her down again but she wouldn't go in. Just went far enough to be able to turn and come back out through the net. By now the weather was closing in as it was getting dark really quick and only just gone 1:00, Popped the ferts back in the box and packed the nets away and headed back to the house.just in time for the hail to descend. Good second day, can't wait till next weekend now. Bri 1 Quote Link to post

3 and counting 22
This is the only permission I have to work on at the moment, have asked at others but waiting for phone calls back. There seems to be quite a few around this site. Counted 63 holes along a hedge row at the top of the orchard and looking at probably the same along the top of some woods. As its a working mill the landowner wants me to concentrate on the orchard area mainly but there is a paddock area that needs looking at and in among the woods too. Out again on Saturday so will look at the opposite side of the orchard and hopefully work my way into the middle. Quote Link to post
stinkers 102
Thats the way to do it mate....just keep giving them a bashing regulary before end of season. If shown to be up there often doing what you said you would then you may get more permos if the fella recommends ya...its often the way it goes Quote Link to post
