For simply walking Brashers are ok, best boot to buy and go walk a fell... Built on a training shoe last, so they are comfortable from the word go...

For gettin out with the dogs, some hard nights lamping.. Utter shite..! And don't even think about 'em for digging..!!

I've been given two pairs in the past, an original and a gor-tex pair (when they came out), neither lasted a season...

I think I'm right in saying they used to be made in the UK

Guess where they are made now ..........

Europe and Asia.

That's never a good move for quality!

The last pair of Hillmasters I had, the lace hooks fell off after a few months.

I only wore them for walking the dog, they wouldn't have survived hard use for long that's for sure.

That's right mate, they did. They bought the 'rights' to a last off Reebok and that is why their boots were/are so comfy.

Great boots are superlites for summer/autumn walking the dogs, fisjhing, shooting and mooching, like a pair of slippers to wear, but for serious stick like digging, and trudging miles in deep mud and shite etc maybe look at something else.
